My little Coolpix camera is great and so easy to bring with me. Up until now I have just uploaded the pictures on the software that came with the camera, called ViewNX2. It's OK for viewing the images. But as I started to prepare for Assignment 4, I realised that the Raw format that Nikon Coolpix uses called NRW wasn't compatible with Photoshop. So what do I do? While searching the internet for an answer I came across this article called "How To Open Nikon Coolpix P7000 NRW Raw Files in Lightroom 3 & Photoshop CS5". It describes the problem quite well, and suggests there is an Adobe Camera Raw 6.3 update which could be used. So I went in into the online help for Photoshop and searched on this term. I found "Install the Adobe Camera Raw 6.3 plug-in update" and I installed the programme. I can now convert the NRW files to DNG files, and it works perfectly in Photoshop Organiser and Editor. A little bit of investigation paid off, and I'm one step closer to complete assignment 4.
I have got my Mojo back! Well, it wasn't really gone, but since starting a new job in January, I haven't had the mental capacity to think to much about my photography. I have started to drive to work for an hour back and forth on the motorway and all these things have made my head fully booked out.
But I was asked if I wanted to feature in the OCA showcase newsletter and since submitting my text and photos last week, I have started to be more focussed on my photography. I am very happy to be back on track. |
